Roadtrip to Prince George

Think back on your most memorable road trip.

I remember my first drive up to Prince George. It was a few years ago and i was heading up there to visit my daughter and son in law.

The nine plus hour drive had me super nervous as my direction is so bad. Back when I was little, my granny would always scold me, saying i couldn’t find my way out of a wet paper bag.

With my pittbull by my side, some faith and salty snacks we made our way. There were four stops that day. Each one was more beautiful than the one before it and by the time we got there I had decided that I wanted to move up there someday.

The rolling hills, the vastness, the endless beauty everywhere was something to see. The canyon, the sunset, omg…..breathtaking.

So the first 5 hours was fun. An adventure. Then the tiredness set in……the endless lines on the road. I remember cranking AC/DC with windows open wide in efforts to wake myself up a bit. Long drives aren’t easy and it wasn’t long before I was daydreaming and flying along at 160 without realizing.

Until the lights and siren..

Yup. You guessed it. I got in big trouble, complete with a detailed lecture that admittedly was deserved. And a speeding ticket.

Lucky. Really lucky no one got hurt. Lucky the officer was understanding of fact I was overdriving and needed a break.

We eventually made it safe to Prince George. We had an amazing visit and then you can bet your last piece of cake I chose to leave early first thing the morning we left, then took 30min breaks along the way heading home.

It felt liberating, freeing to be alone on a roadtrip. It felt exciting, scary and really fun to be on such a journey. And of course I had a fantastic visit with my one and only baby girl and her lovely bunny bunny.

How bout you? I’d love to read about your most memorable roadtrip
