I’m fascinated with the history of hairstyles through the years and often dreamed of living in a different era. The 1940s was a time I would have loved to see all the fancy dresses, hairstyles, and other changes that happened along the way.
The 1940s saw dramatic changes in fashion and hair. Clothing became much more tailored, skirts fell to the knee, fitted waists, and full skirts.
Hairstyles went from modest close to the head styles to big hair, big curls, and pin-up styles. Victory rolls are an iconic style from this time. Inspired by actresses in Hollywood, victory rolls became a staple style and were worn by many.
