The Beehive hairstyle beginning
Brides, If you are looking to achieve volume and height, it’s the beehive hairstyle.
I remember when I was little, I would watch my mother teasing her hair super crazy and spraying endless clouds of hairspray, just to brush it back and pin it.
The beehive was created in 1960 by Margaret Vinci Heldt, a hairdresser in Chigaco.
She designed this style to offer height and volume for her clients, and it quickly became a signature look of the times.
The beehive is accented by a hair free neckline and was intended to fit under those little tiny hats that were the rage at the time.
Early on some of the stars rocking this style were The Ronettes, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin and the B52s
Later on, you would see Amy Winehouse rocking this style, and Adele.
