Hi, I am Joanne-bridal hair artist, calm morning companion, and the heart behind Lioness Mane Events.
Before I ever picked up a curling iron professionally, i was working full-time as a community support worker- A career i held for 14 years, supporting adults with disabilities.
And then something unexpected happened. I fell in love with bridal hairstyling.
It started with one bride. A friend of ours. One beautiful morning. And i was absolutely hooked.
I have always been able to recreate styles just by looking at them-It took me a while to realize that wasn’t something everyone could do-I just thought that’s how hair worked!
Hair has always relaxed me, calmed me, slowed down my racing mind. It fills my cup in so many ways.
So when I realized how much I loved working with brides, I made a bold move: At 48 years old, I left my full-time union job and went back to school for hairdressing. It was scary. but my heart knew it was the right path.
I worked and studied for a year to earn my credentials, learn the techniques and structure that elevated my natural talent. And now- I know without a doubt that bridal hair is my true calling.
There is something sacred about the hours before a wedding. The energy, the emotions, the quiet focus. I love being a calm, grounding presence while creating beautiful, personalized styles that make you feel radiant and relaxed.
You will often find me building timelines, pinning styles with care, and tucking in final touches like my signature My Mane Essentials Kit– all to ensure your morning goes off smoothly, and you feel cared for every step of the way.
And when i am not styling brides, im usually out walking in nature, at the gym, gardening, or dreaming up new ways to elevate the bridal experience for women just like you.
