Self -Love, A poem

As a bridal hairstylist, I often meet young brides that are always looking after everyone else-mom, bridesmaids, grandma, friends, and they forget that its ok to stop for a minute and

Do some self care activities every day ❤️

This poem is a gentle reminder.

Self- love is looking into the mirror

And being kind to the person you see.

Its eating well and moving your body

To be the best that you can be.

Self-love is keeping the promises

You make when your alone.

And when life gets hard- and it will

It’s knowing you are strong as stone.

Its doing things that make you feel happy

And finding your people along the way.

Who sees your light and lifts you up,

On even your darkest day.

Find a hobby you love,

Build it into a life.

Then if you are lucky,

Find a best friend to husband or wife.

Try new things, make mistakes

Don’t let regret decide your fate.

Because the hardest emotion to shake

Is the one that comes too late.

So love yourself like your truest friend

Be gentle, real and true.

And your life will be fulfilled and whole

And remember-there’s only one you ❤️

I wrote self-love for whomever needs to see it at this moment.

Love Joanne
