One Wedding A Day

When i began in the bridal business i had to make several decisions. One of them was that id never scale my business because i am absolutely terrified that staff will not show up. I mean, its not like a typical job where you can call in sick and someone else can replace you. This is someones wedding day.

Once i started booking weddings i found there was more to worry about then staffing issues. People being added, brides disappearing for nervous poops, bridesmaids having breakdowns in bathrooms with anxiety, people ruining their hair when they change their clothes or go outside in the rain to smoke. Bridesmaids changing their mind about hairstyle once seeing the others. Bridesmaids showing up late, sick, hungover or hair is completely greasy because they thought dirty hair is best.

Having one wedding only allows me to stay should someone else want their hair done. Yes, this happens often, when the ladies start walking around with their stunning updos. When that happens ni consider it a huge compliment and am more then happy to add them in.

If bridesmaids need touchups im happy to stay and do that at the end.

Sometimes im needed to stay to help bride with last minute adjustments after she changes or does makeup.

Styling is not rushed, but its guaranteed on time, every time. I feel having one party is the only way i can guarantee a bride and her entire crew will be done, looking amazing, on time, every time.

Risk vs Regret

I will never forget the day I sent my 2 week notice into my job of 14 years to go back to school and change careers completely.
I’ve been a support worker so long I didn’t even know what I wanted to do if I had a choice, until I did.
I discovered a love of formal hairstyling. This led to doing mobile wedding styling on weekends and one day I decided I wanted hair to be my focus.
I quit my job, went back to school…..
Now I work in a long term care salon, I do mobile styling for weddings, mobile hairstyling services for those with mobility issues and seniors.
No regrets, life is so much more rewarding now. I love waking up. I love going to work. Love meeting new people. Love my life. No regrets. Never too late to make a big change.
I believe in you until you believe in yourself. Just do it. ❤️
No regrets

Spring into a change

I dont know about you, but ive always found it very stressful to think of changing my hairstyle….so I never did.

I mean, Just looking at pictures of hairstyles made me anxious and I really didn’t know what would look good on me anyway.

When I saw someone else make a change I’d get motivated and start thinking something different may be a good thing…….but what?

What should I do differently? Are layers going to work or is my hair too thin? How many layers do i ask for?
How much should I cut?
What about upkeep?

I never knew where to start so I never moved. Since high school.

But ladies get this……..

What I’ve learned since becoming a hairdresser is:

Hairdressers almost always have ideas for you to try, options that will make you look your best.
We look at your personality. Your face shape. Your current hair and texture. We talk about what your upkeep looks like as it is comfortable for you.

Then…….I do my thing and create a style personal to you to make you look your best.

I can’t help but love what a boost in confidence a new haircut gives and how soft hair feels when freshly cut, coloured, and styled. It’s a new you!

Let’s make this a thing, ladies 😀 every so often, let’s change it up and try new things.

Who needs a change? Who needs a trim? Who needs some help changing hair shape and accenting those gorgeous features?

Mobile Haircut & Style

As a community support worker and mom it’s second nature to me to take care of others and it’s always made me feel good to make someone’s day better.

Its often been a challenge taking clients to a typical salon to get a haircut, for various reasons. Mobility is also an issue for many, and anxiety, smell sensitivities, noise.

Sometimes people are in hospitol or care and need a haircut but can’t get out to a salon, or maybe they are at risk.

Im mobile, can have them in a fresh new cut and styled as soon as I can get there.

Mobile Haircut & Style Service.

For those that don’t do well at salons or around people in a small space..

For those that have trouble sitting still, in wheelchair or bed, anyone with challenges I will adapt and find a way thats comfortable for you to get your hair done and feel good for summer with a fresh look
