The best gift I’ve ever received was the first time someone believed in me. My childhood was not healthy, so I grew up very insecure of myself.
When I got engaged, I was determined to do my own hair and practiced on a manniquin regularly. One day, a friend came over and saw my braided hairstyle on the manniquin and asked if I would do a bridal hair trial for her.
I was immediately panicked, saying I don’t think I could do a good enough job, but my husband stepped in and encouraged me to do the trial. He said, “you got this babe, I know you can do it. ” I did go to do that trial, she cried when she saw her hair and hired me on the spot. And I can say today……I wouldn’t have ever considered that I was good enough if my husband hadn’t given me the gift of believing in me first.
