When I started out as a bridal stylist back in 2019, I was self-taught, incredibly shy, and unsure of my abilities.
My first wedding was for 4 people. Bride and 3 bridesmaids. The bride trial was free. Bridal updos on wedding day were $25 each.
My second wedding was for 8 people. I did a free bridal trial, completed all 8 styles in 4 hours, and again charged only $25 each.
I remember i left that golf course that day, the happiest woman in the world. I couldn’t believe that these ladies paid me to play with their hair! Some of them even gave me creative freedom, and I was super excited to have their trust and just let my hands do their thing.
From the beginning, I’ve loved being a bridal stylist and I keep my prices low because I just love what I do and want to keep it accessible for everyone.
I mean, what’s not to love about wedding day? Everyone is so beautiful, glowing, and excited. The laughs, memories shared, tears of joy. The special moments, like when a bride sees her hair vision come to life. That look on her face. It’s everything to me to see that radiant smile that lights up a room…..and I know I’ve nailed it. Only then can I breathe. It’s also then that I realize I’ve held my breath since I got to the venue. Every wedding, I’m incredibly nervous on the inside, but at the same time, that little girl inside me is jumping for joy.
Making people as beautiful on the outside as they can be is my greatest passion. Making people feel seen, heard, and respected is my superpower. I feel very lucky to have discovered a love and passion, a skill and natural ability of bridal updo styling, and I’m working hard to get better every day for all of my future bridal parties cause I ain’t going no where :) just sayin 😉
